MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested after Memphis Police say he stabbed his pregnant ex-girlfriend 10 times on Friday.
At 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a wounding call in the parking lot in the 1500 block of Havana Street.
They found a female victim who had been stabbed multiple times and taken to Regional One Hospital.
The victim gave a statement at the hospital and said that while she was walking with some friends, her ex-boyfriend Deandre Wilkins approached her.
She said that she and Wilkins were in a year-long relationship before breaking up a few months ago. She’s currently pregnant with his child.
Wilkins allegedly began punching the victim in the face and then pulled out a kitchen knife and started stabbing her.
Wilkins allegedly said to the victim, “I told you I was going to get you” while he was stabbing her. She was stabbed approximately 10 times.
The victim was able to positively identify Wilkins in a single-shot photo.
