MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in custody in Memphis on accusations that he is connected to the death of a mother and her two daughters in Milwaukee.

Arzel Ivery was arrested in Memphis on Saturday. Police say he came to the Mid-South because he has family living in Memphis.

During a court appearance on Monday, Ivery waived extradition, meaning he will be sent back to Milwaukee. A team from Milwaukee will be down to get him sometime in the next day or two.

WREG also learned that on February 15, officers were flagged down at Frayser Boulevard and Watkins after Ivery arrived at a home talking about the incident in Wisconsin.

According to WREG’s sister station in Milwaukee, police from Milwaukee came to Memphis and spoke with Ivery. He provided them with information, leading them to a garage in Milwaukee where three bodies were found.

Amarah Banks and her daughters, Camaria and Zaniya Banks, were identified as the victims.

The family of Banks is distraught from the news.

“I’ll never see or talk to my sister again and it hurts me so bad because me and my sister were so close,” Banks’ sister Tameka told reporters in Milwaukee.

Amarah Banks was first reported missing by her family on February 9 after all three were last seen the day before.

According to Milwaukee police, Amarah Banks and Ivery were in a relationship.

A warrant was issued for Ivery in Wisconsin which led to Memphis police taking him into custody.

At this time, Ivery is only charged with aggravated battery.

Officials with the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team confirmed that Ivery was a former security guard with the team but was dismissed for attendance reasons after two months.
