MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In the video taken from a home security system, you can see a young man with a flashlight.
He’s digging in the car, then heading off into trees to the next house on the block.
“As many cars as I heard were hit, I would have suspected it was a group of kids,” said Mary Cay Oyler.
Oyler also had her car ransacked in the middle of the night several miles away in Germantown.
“He went through the glove compartment, he had papers thrown everywhere throughout the car,” she said.
Normally, police wouldn’t necessarily be able to connect the man caught on tape to other break-ins, but sources told WREG the man on camera dropped credit cards on Corsica Drive in East Memphis.
They were the same credit cards stolen in Germantown earlier that same night.
“Pictures, video are outstanding, input from public and the neighborhoods paying attention are really helpful, we couldn’t have enough of that,” said Rodney Bright, Deputy Police Chief in Germantown
There were seven break-in’s near Houston High School one night.
There was a half of a dozen more on the west side of town another.
Police just need to know the identity of the young man seen in the video.
