MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing an attempted murder charge after being accused of shooting a man in Northaven over the weekend.

On Sunday at 5:17 p.m., deputies responded to a reported shooting with injuries in the 5200 block of Diamond Cove.

When they arrived, deputies found an adult male victim lying at the end of a driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

Deputies detained a male suspect, later identified as Altonious Scott who remained at the scene following the incident.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit responded to the scene and launched an investigation.

Preliminary findings indicated that the shooting stemmed from a dispute involving a known third party between the suspect and the victim.

As a result, Scott was taken into custody and charged with attempted second-degree murder.

At this time, the victim is still at the hospital and in critical condition.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
