RIDGELAND, Miss. — A Jackson man was arrested after he reportedly destroyed a statue.

Police told MS News Now, Charles Branch took a sledgehammer and chainsaw to the horse statue on the property of Renaissance at Colony Park after God told him to.

This wasn’t the first time Branch has targeted the park.

In September, he cut off the legs of the horse outside of a local P.F. Chang’s, and then last week attacked another horse statue in a marble fountain.

After the latest incident, police served a search warrant at his home and found Branch had kept the hooves on a grill in his backyard.

He now faces two counts of felony malicious mischief.
