MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man is facing murder charges after police say he confessed to killing a man during an argument.

Michael Walton, 37, was arrested Monday night and charged with first-degree murder.

So far, police have not released his mugshot.

According to the affidavit, Walton came to MPD’s homicide bureau office and confessed to killing Paxton Halliburton.

Hallburton’s body was found Monday along Highland Street near the Wolf River.

Walton told investigators that he got into a fight with Halliburton on Sunday and stabbed him several times.

Walton is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Wednesday.
