MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man on trial for working with a minor to set up an aggravated robbery has been convicted.
According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, 25-year-old Kerry Granderson could be sentenced 8 to 12 years when he appears before a judge again in May.
Granderson was accused of using a 16-year-old girl to convince a man to bring her $20 for food for herself and her baby.
When the 21-year-old arrived at a home in the 4500 block of Addington Driver, Granderson pulled a gun and demanded the cash.
He even reportedly threatened him.
Granderson then told the minor to go get an additional $300 out of the man’s car.
Both suspects were identified and arrested a week later.
The juvenile pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in Juvenile Court and was placed with the Department of Children’s Services.
Granderson is being held in the Shelby County Jail until his next court date.
