MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One man was shot in the 4200 block of Eastwind Drive, police said.
Memphis Police responded to the call at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The shooting happened near the Peppertree Apartments, which has been the scene of multiple recent shootings.
Police found the victim, Akeem Wilkins, lying in the parking lot. He had multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He soon died of his injuries.
Witnesses told police they heard several shots then saw two hooded men flee the scene on foot.
