ALAMO, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a fatal shooting involving Crockett County deputies and a police officer.

The two deputies and a Maury City police officer went to a home on Colvett Road in Alamo to execute a search warrant early Sunday morning, according to the TBI.

At the home, the TBI said Ronald Branch, 28, came in brandishing a weapon. The situation escalated, and there was an exchange of gunfire, the TBI said.

Branch was shot and taken to a hospital, where he died.

The deputies and officer were not hurt, according to the TBI.

Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce told WBBJ the investigation at the home was not related to the shooting, and Branch did not live there.

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department called the TBI after the shooting, per protocol.

The deputies involved are on paid leave while TBI agents investigate the incident. The TBI will submit its findings to the district attorney general.
