MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was indicted on first-degree murder charges for the death of a basketball opponent following an argument on the court.

Ronald Jones, 22, was charged in July. He allegedly shot and killed Vicdarrius Pollard on July 24 at the LA Fitness on Polo Grounds Boulevard.

Witnesses said the two got into an argument over a foul, and Jones walked out of the gym but returned and shot Pollard multiple times.

Jones and Pollard did not know each other, according to the DA’s office.
