MONROE, La. — The man accused of a brutal murder in Mississippi is slated to go on trial in Louisiana in another case today.

Quinton Tellis is accused in Jessica Chambers’ murder.

She was set on fire and left to die in Courtland, Mississippi in December of 2014.

The case involving Tellis in Louisiana involves his use of a credit card that belonged to a college student who was stabbed to death.

After the trial in Monroe ends, it is likely Tellis will be returned to Mississippi to face capital murder charges in the Chambers case.

He was indicted for capital murder in the Chambers case in February.
