WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — A Michigan man has been living out of his truck in West Memphis, Arkansas, hoping to find his missing Boxer, Bruno.

Mike Rosenberg and his wife were traveling from Michigan to Texas when they lost Bruno earlier this month.

They say Bruno somehow got out of their room at the Days Inn.

“He was a stray when we got him about nine months ago. I think he may be an escape artist,” Rosenberg said.

Rosenburg drove his wife to Texas, but came back days later and has been parked behind Southland Park, right next to the Days Inn.

He says the dog was spotted in the same area about a week ago.

“I feel like if he was to spot the truck he would come to it,” Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg has been sleeping in freezing temperatures and spending his days putting up lost dog signs, driving through neighborhoods and on back roads, and asking anyone he runs into if they have seen Bruno.

“You have no idea how attached I am to this dog. It’s kind of crazy. It’s not so much he’s my dog it’s more like I’m his human,” Rosenberg said.

He says as hard as this has been, he’s amazed by the help he’s gotten from rescue groups, animal lovers, and even businesses in West Memphis.

“Southland Park has been helpful. They actually gave me free coupons for their buffet,” Rosenberg said.

He’s hoping all of the hard work pays off and the stray he rescued will be rescued again.

Bruno is brown with a white chest and has cropped ears and a docked tail. He was wearing three tags and has a microchip.

If you see him, call (269) 838-8747. You can also contact the West Memphis Animal Shelter.

Animal rescue groups say they are still trying to help a military family who also lost a Boxer in the same area a year ago.  For information on that family’s missing dog, click here.
