MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for a trio who stole a man’s car while he was stopped at a red light.
The 27-year-old victim told police a large man zapped him with a stun gun through his window.
Seconds later, he said two women hopped in his SUV and forced him out.
The large man reportedly made the victim get on the ground while the trio got in his SUV and sped away.
It happened on Lamar and Pearson early Thursday morning.
Police have yet to release any descriptions of who they’re looking for, but did say it was two women and a man behind the crime.
“It’s not safe anywhere these days,” said driver Windy Thomas, who passes the intersection every day. “I do everything I need to do during the day time, because I know it be bad out here.”
This isn’t the first time a driver has been robbed at a red light either.
Three months ago, a duo held a driver at gunpoint at Poplar and Perkins and took his wallet.
While the incidents don’t seem to be related, drivers like Thomas are afraid criminals are becoming too bold.
“I just don’t understand some people,” she said.
The stolen vehicle is a 2004, white Yukon.
