MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A local father already serving life  in prison for the murder of his 3-year-old son was sentenced to an additional 25 years for aggravated child abuse and neglect.

In August, Jamie Jones was convicted in the 2013 murder of Landon Stokes after an autopsy showed the child died from blunt-force injuries.

The Judge in the case said it was the worst he’d seen in his 30 years in the legal profession.

He said the father’s actions was simply “calculated, cold-blooded carnage.”

The autopsy report showed the child had 116 external injuries, lacerations of the spleen and liver, and a ruptured adrenal gland.

When questioned by police, Jones said his son had fallen down the stairs.

However, doctors testified such injuries were not caused by a fall.

Jones with serve the 25 year sentence consecutively with the life sentence for the murder charge.
