MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A father of two was shot and killed in Hickory Hill Saturday afternoon, Memphis Police said.
Police are investigating the shooting that happened around 2:30 at the 4300 block of Crescent Park Drive.
Police pronounced one man dead at the scene another man was detained.
Neighbors said they heard about 5 gunshots, some thought it was fireworks.
Family confirms with WREG that the victim is 23-year-old Markedis Briars.
Police and forensic investigators are still trying to figure out what happened.
Police said they have taken people in for questioning but don’t have much information at this time.
The family said that Briars had two children, a little boy and a 3-year-old girl.
This is an ongoing investigation.
