MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Demarcus Oliver, Courtney Oliver and Terrence Oliver have been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Evading Arrest and Aggravated Assault.
Police responded to a shooting call in the 400 block of East Shelby Drive around 4:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon.
They located a 21-year-old male that had been shot multiple times, hit by the suspects’ vehicle and dragged over 600 feet from Shelby Drive to Hodge Road.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Officers later found two other victims; a 28-year-old male was shot by the same suspects and a 24-year-old male had been struck by the suspects’ vehicle.
They were taken to area hospitals in non-critical condition.
Memphis Police said the shooting was sparked by a massive fight at a shopping center on Shelby Drive.
“It was about maybe 12 to 15 guys,” a witness, who was scared to show her face, said.
The witness told WREG the group was jumping one man when the fight spilled into the street.
Police blocked off part of Shelby Drive where they found blood stains on the ground.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, said a man in the crowd pulled out a gun.
“Point blank. Shot him, and he fell to the ground,” The witness said.
The gunman reportedly walked away from the victim and returned opening fire.
“They were still beating him even after this man stood over him and shot him several more times,” the witness described.
“I just hate things happen like that and definitely hate they happen in our neighborhood and anywhere,” Fair said.
Police said the situation became even more brutal.
“They got in the van, pulled off of the parking lot, hit one guy, knocked him up in the air and ran over the guy that they had stood over and shot,” the witness explained.
Police said the man was dragged from Shelby Drive to around this corner and half way down Hodge Road.
The man eventually fell off of the van; someone dialed 911, and emergency crews got the victim to the hospital.
The violent scene had some neighbors on edge.
“Will you please stop the violence, please stop fighting? Let’s try to get along. Let’s have a better neighborhood,” Fair said.
The victims have not been identified.
The suspects are set to appear in court Monday morning.
