The scene in the 1600 block of Holmes Road.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have responded to two shootings at two different locations in Whitehaven.

The first occurred in the 1600 block of East Holmes Road. The victim was transported in noncritical condition, police said.

The second happened in the 5400 block of Lochnivar Road. One person was shot and is in noncritical condition, police said.

Both victims were teenagers, police said. MPD said the two shootings, which happened about four blocks away from each other, appear to be connected.

Police have not yet made any arrests.

Raines Station officers held a Halloween event at Southland Mall to give Whitehaven residents an escape from potential crime.

“When you talk about being afraid of stuff like that, kids being involved that’s why it’s important for police to get involved with the communities,” Major Clay told WREG.
