Man shot twice in the head during apparent robbery in South Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are on the hunt for the person responsible for shooting a man and leaving him for dead in the middle of a South Memphis parking lot on Wednesday night.

Memphis Police were canvassing a South Memphis neighborhood overnight. They are looking for the person responsible for shooting a man twice just outside the In and Out Market.

During the day, people normally walked the area of South Parkway and Kerr Avenue. However, the In and Out Market on the corner was closed after getting caught in the crossfire of a shooting around midnight.

Neighbors we spoke to didn’t want to be identified, but they said that this is basically normal for the area.

Memphis Police blocked off the street for hours while they searched for evidence.

Police said that the victim was shot during a possible robbery.

Investigators said that the victim was shot multiple times, including twice in the head. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

People living in the area said they heard about 10 gunshots.

On scene, we noticed what appeared to be several bullet holes in vehicles in front of the convenience store.

Police have not confirmed whether or not the victim knew the shooter.

However, those we spoke to living in the area say it’s a small community where everyone knows everyone.
For now, they say they plan on keeping their eyes open until the person responsible for this heinous crime is behind bars.

Police have yet to release any suspect information. If you know anything about this incident, you are urged to call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528 – CASH.
