MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is in critical condition after a shooting in Frayser early Sunday morning.

Police received a call about a shooting at about 1:30 a.m; the caller told police his friend drove to his home and said he was shot at the Ridgecrest Apartments.

Officers responded and saw the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in noncritical condition but later worsened to critical condition, police said.

Investigators learned the victim was parked outside the Ridgecrest Apartments when the suspect walked up to his vehicle and exchanged words with him. The suspect then shot him, police said.

Officers drove to the apartment complex to find the crime scene and were flagged down in the 2800 block of Leafy Hollow Drive by someone who said shots went into their home.
