MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s been three years with no answers and no justice for a Memphis mother who says her only son was killed, and so far, no one has been held accountable.
This Memphis mother knows someone knows something and she’s hoping they will come forward.
“I will never be the same, I hurt every day. I still got to get up and keep going because that was my son,” said Demetria Ingram.
Memphis Police say Ingram’s only child, 19-year-old Jacobi Price, was killed on February 5, 2022.

“The sheriff’s department came to the house and said that my baby had been murdered,” she said.
It happened in the 3700 block of Carnes in East Memphis. Homicide investigators say Price had been shot multiple times and the gunmen stole his 2014 Infiniti Q50.
Ingram says she hasn’t been given much information regarding her son’s case, but she thinks she knows what happened.
“I think it was a setup. I think they robbed him and took his car,” she said.
Ingram says the grief and pain don’t get any easier.
“I wouldn’t want you to go through, nobody to get through what I’m going through, every day I hurt, but I still got to get up and go on with my life,” said Ingram.
She says her son left behind a daughter who will never get a chance to know her father — a life cut short due to a senseless act of violence.
Ingram has a message for her son’s killer.
“I just want young people to think about what they are doing, you got a mom or you got loved ones or a father, just stop doing all this killing,” she said. “All this madness, it’s making no sense.”
If you know who killed Jacobi Price, you are urged to call Crimestoppers and 528-cash. Your tip could help put a dangerous killer in jail and $10,000 in your pocket. Remember, all calls are confidential.
