Mardi Gras Krewe reveals $30,000 donation to Memphis Crisis Center

MEMPHIS, Tenn – The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus gifted the Memphis Crisis Center with its largest donation to date at the Krewe’s donor appreciation event Sunday.

This year’s donation of $30,000  to the Memphis Crisis Center exceeds last year’s donation of $20,000 to Friends for Life. The Memphis Crisis Center serves as a free, safe and confidential lifeline for thousands of people in the Mid-South.

The  Mystic Krewe of Pegasus, a volunteer group led by King and Queen Pegasus, is Memphis’ only Mardi Gras Krewe.

Donors and supporters of the Mystic Krewe attended the event Sunday at Central Christian Church to celebrate a highly successful year. Also present at the event were last year’s reigning King and Queen, Lee Goins and Becky Rachels.

Each year, the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus raises money for a different charity – hoping to increase the donation amount from year to year. Over the past 13 year’s Pegasus has raised over $146,000 for different charities. Some of the Krewe’s fundraising events include Halloween parties, murder mystery dinners, softball tournaments, and of course, it’s annual Mardi Gras Ball.

Aside from revealing the huge $30,000 check, the Mystic Krewe also revealed the theme for Mardi Gras Ball XIV. The theme for this year’s ball is Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas!
