(Memphis) MATA is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Main Street Trolley by reducing fares on all MATA trolleys this week.
Wednesday through Friday, passengers can ride any trolley on Main Street, Madison Avenue and the Riverfront for 20¢.
Seniors 65 and older and people with disabilities with a valid MATA ID card will only pay 10¢.
The Main Street Trolleys began running in April 1993. The Riverfront line was added in 1997 and the Madison Ave. corridor was brought online in 2004.
According to MATA, the trolley system carried more than 1.4 million passengers in 2012.
