(Whiteville, TN) The news of Jo Ann Bain and her three daughters Kyliyah, Alexandria and Adriene`s disappearance is stunning the town Whiteville.
They haven`t been seen in over a week, and that has people talking at places like the Country Cafe.
“It`s never happened here before and I guess we considered ourselves never having that kind of problem, but looks like we do today,” said Hubert Morrison.
A close family friend of the mother and her three daughters says they moved back to Whiteville from Arizona last year when Jo Ann`s father died.
The Bains were just days away from moving back to Arizona where Jo Ann was going to finish her last few classes and become a teacher.
Jo Ann`s husband Gary Bain is in shock and has become a recluse in his Hardeman County home.
Billy Pittman said everyone is in shock, “You never dream of it around home. It`s always somewhere else, but it`s bad,” said Pittman.
As the FBI searches for the family, Adam Mayes is being blamed for their disappearance.
A close family friend said Mayes is the ex-brother in law of Jo Ann`s husband Gary.
He was the family`s handy man and baby sat the three girls.
Mayes even listed himself as the girls’ brother on his Facebook page.
The family friend says Jo Ann and Gary had “the perfect marriage.”
The family’s disappearance has Whiteville residents on the edge.
Tom Norride has even made his daughter start taking someone with her to meet people, “In this day in age you just don`t know, and people need to be careful, but as a father it concerns me tremendously.”
Police found two bodies buried in Mayes back yard, but are not confirming they belong to any of the missing Bain family.
