BATESVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced it would begin repairing the guardrails on sections of U.S. Highway 78 and I-55 on Wednesday.

Crews will start on U.S. 78 at Goodman Road in Desoto County, and the project will  end near U.S. 78/Highway 178 in Benton County.

Both east and westbound lanes will have to be temporarily shut down.

Once they finish that section, crews will then move to I-55.

MDOT told WREG crews would start at the Enid interchange in Yalobusha County and end right before the intersection with U.S. 82 in Winona.

Once again, both north and southbound lanes will be shut down.

The project is anticipated to take several weeks to complete.
