MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A prominent Memphis activist, who helped organize the protest at the I-40 bridge, has been arrested.
Officers were called to a domestic disturbance around 11:30 p.m. Friday in which a woman told police she had been in a fight with her ex-boyfriend, 33-year-old Frank Gibson, also known as Frank Gottie.
She said he came to her home and took the battery out of her car so she couldn’t drive it and then pushed her down to the driveway when she tried to stop him.
The victim had scratches on her arms, but she refused treatment, police said.
Gibson came back when police were still on the scene.

Officers tried to take him into custody, but he was “uncooperative and irate,” police said.
Officers eventually brought him into custody after a struggle, police said.
Police said Gibson was screaming and intimidating the victim while officers were on the scene.
Gibson was charged with domestic assault, driving while license suspended/revoked/canceled, resisting arrest and theft of property $500 or less.
He was also charged with violating bail conditions due to a previous arrest for assaulting the same victim, police said.
He has since been released from jail and will appear in court Monday.
