MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Cozy Corner got comfortable in its new home on Tuesday, but the move is only temporary.

A fire severely damaged the popular BBQ and soul food restaurant in January, and managers told WREG the repairs will take all summer to complete.

“Restaurants fail in that amount of time,” India Howard, the assistant manager at Cozy Corner, said. “So, we don’t want the City of Memphis to forget the taste of our BBQ. We want to stay in everyone’s mind.”

Workers are sharing the building with Encore Cafe on North Parkway.

The business set up a trailer behind the building to smoke their meat.

“We’re selling ribs, we’re selling wings, we’re doing pork and beef which is pretty traditional,” Howard said.

Cozy Corner is open Tuesday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
