MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis City Councilman Berlin Boyd was involved in a motorcycle accident late Saturday night.

Police say it happened around 11:45p.m. when Boyd hit a Nissan Frontier with his motorcycle at Third Street and Jefferson Avenue.

Boyd was transported to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition with complaints of knee pains. Boyd told WREG he has to have surgery on his knee. He does not know when.

He told WREG, “It’s messed up pretty bad.”

Councilman Boyd received a citation for violation of state registration and failure to maintain a safe look out.
