(Memphis) One person is in custody after a brief stand-off at a home on Semmes near Carnes.
Witnesses say a man attacked his girlfriend Friday night. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Officers went back to the house Saturday morning to question the suspect, but he would not come out of the house.
Shortly after officers made the scene smoke was seen coming from the residence and fire crews were called. The fire was put out in less than an hour.
