MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Lindsay Ball doesn’t just take her son to work. For her, motherhood is her work.
“This is my full-time job.”
Working from her home in Collierville, she publishes a blog aimed at helping mothers.
On Friday, we learned that help comes not in the form of words but in the form of diapers, formula, baby wipes and other essential needs.
They’re all bound for other mothers in water-logged Louisiana.
“Those are the kinds of things that, unfortunately, distribution centers are lacking at this time, and those are the kinds of things that moms need the most,” she said.
Ball and other fellow mothers plan to drive the supplies down at the end of the month.
Since they started collecting on Thursday, Ball said the interest has been overwhelming.
“It`s bringing attention to something that we already knew and that`s that moms are great.”
The folks with the Memphis Moms Blog aren’t the only ones stepping up to help the flood victims.
The Nail Club in Hickory Hill is also actively seeking supplies.
“Anything you can donate. I don`t care if it`s clothing, toiletries, whatever you may need,” said Shonta Love.
They have a semi truck that’s scheduled to leave Memphis next Friday and hope by then to have it filled.
You can bring you donations by the Nail Club anytime during normal business hours.
