(Memphis) A local non-profit, that usually helps the homeless, took time to give a woman living at Grace Healthcare in Cordova a Christmas she won’t forget.
Sober House Homeless Mission founder, Larry Hunter, gave 96-year-old Mardgie Carr a plaque, roses and a Lazy Boy recliner Wednesday.
Hunter said it’s important to let seniors know they are appreciated during the holidays.
“You got so many people living in a nursing home that haven’t had a visitor in years. We just want to come and brighten up their Christmas, ” Hunter said.
Sober House chooses a different senior every year for it’s holiday giveaway.
