MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department announced on Friday it will be accepting applications from those interested in joining their ranks.

Applicants must have a minimum of fifty-four semester hours from an accredited college or university, or two continuous years active Military service with an honorable discharge.

Applications can be obtained at 201 Poplar Avenue, at any of the ten police stations, or the Memphis Police Training Academy.

However, they must be returned to the Memphis Police Training Academy by December 4 for consideration.

Everyone will then have to successfully test and pass a 1.5 mile run within 15 minutes or less; a Physical Ability Test; and two written exams testing your reading comprehension and problem-solving skills.

The tests will be conducted on Saturday, December 12 with class scheduled to begin April 4, 2016.

The Memphis Police Training Academy is located at 4371 O.K. Robertson Road.
