MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a reported sexual assault involving two students at Grandview Heights Middle School.

Police wouldn’t say much about what happened.

Neither police nor the Shelby County Schools would even confirm exactly what happened.

Parents we spoke to said they want answers.

They told WREG they were confused when they saw police cars and an ambulance parked in front of Grandview Heights Middle School.

Celeste Haynes took her 13-year-old daughter out of school when she saw Police Officers on campus.

Haynes said it scared her.

“I just didn’t know what was going on,” she said.

WREG reached out to Shelby County School which released a statement saying only that the incident was under investigation.

Some parents said the district should be more open about potential crimes.

“I’m just kind of upset,” said another parent.

WREG also spoke with School Board member Stephanie Love, who represents the middle school.

Love said no one notified her about an incident at the school and she didn’t understand why.

School Board members said they are working to get more information.
