(Memphis) Memphis Police are searching for a hit and run suspect after officers received a call around 8:50 p.m. last night of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
Curtis Echols, 59, was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu and was traveling eastbound on Deadrick and west of Hugenot when it left the roadway striking Mr. Echols who was walking on the sidewalk.
The owner of the hit and run vehicle, later contacted Memphis Police advising that the car had been loaned to two individuals.
When the vehicle was returned, the owner noticed fresh damage to the car and contacted police.
Additional information has been provided to officers and they are attempting to locate the two individuals that may be responsible for this crash.
No charges have been filed at this time, as this is still an ongoing investigation.
