Arrest warrant issued for man police say raped three women

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –On Thursday, Memphis Police released a picture of the man they say raped three women. The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Darrin Walker. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest and they said he’s considered armed and dangerous. On Thursday,  Memphis Police were at the Fairfield Inn at Perkins and American Way after a vehicle was discovered that matched the description of the one allegedly driven by Walker during the attacks. “Makes me feel unsafe. It makes me feel terrible for the victims too,” said Thomas Hickman, who was staying at the hotel. Hickman and his friends didn’t expect their hotel’s parking lot to be the scene of an investigation. They watched as police surrounded a red Dodge Magnum and launched an investigation. “Dusting for fingerprints and stuff,” said Hickman as he described the scene. Walker was accused of three separate sexual assaults. Earlier in October, a woman told police a man raped her in her apartment. He abducted her and robbed her near Clarke Road and Pathway Circle. The same day, a woman said she was abducted while walking near McLemore Avenue and Lamar Avenue. She said a man raped her in his car. Almost two weeks later, police said a woman was abducted while walking near McLemore and Orleans Street around 2:30 a.m. In all three cases the victims said their attacker had a gun. Tyler Massay, who was also staying at the hotel, believed  Walker’s car had been there for awhile. “It was here I know on Tuesday for sure,” he said. That was the same day as the latest rape. When WREG went to Walker’s southeast Shelby County home Thursday night, no one answered the door. However his next door neighbor Jahadim Lawson did. He had just heard the news. “That’s crazy. He’s crazy. He’s crazy for doing that,” said Lawson. WREG did some digging and discovered Walker has dealt with the cops before. In March of 2014 he was charged with reckless endangerment after he was involved in a fight and a gun went off. In May of 2015 police said he was charged with domestic violence after police said he beat up his girlfriend. Hickman said he hopes the police get answers soon. “I really hope they catch the guy before it happens to someone else.” Investigators ask people with information to call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH.
