MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Chances are you have seen police pulling people over every couple of miles.
It’s been going on all month-long.
Stanley Jackson said he’s gotten tickets, and admitted he speeds.
“If they don’t want people to speed, make cars that go 65 only,” said Jackson.
Still officers were out there with radar guns, pulling over a new car minutes after finishing with the last.
A MPD spokeswoman said it was a special detail they have been running for several weeks on the interstates in response to erratic driving.
One driver told us he doesn’t like the speeders, but the slow drivers in the left lane made for an even bigger problem.
He said slow pokes forced the rest of us to speed.
“I don’t know where everyone is trying to get to real fast. But they going real fast,” said one driver.
Police refused to say how long the special detail would be in effect, but said they’re working with the Governor’s office as part of his plan to keep the state’s highways safe.
