MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County health officials said they are moving at a rapid pace when it comes to their vaccination efforts and are expecting a new uptick in doses in April.
According to the latest data, Shelby County administered more than 44,000 doses in the last seven days. They are currently vaccinating Lakeland and Arlington School Districts, and will get Shelby County School teachers their second doses next week.
There’s also plans to open up several more community partner sites at the Healing Center, Golden Gate Church, New Harvest Baptist and St. Paul Baptist.
Health officials said they will be keeping an eye on the weather outlook for Thursday and will stop the vaccination process should severe weather make it unsafe to continue. Anyone whose appointment is canceled will be contacted by health officials to set up a new appointment.
