MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  A Memphis woman will be in court Wednesday, accused of attacking her ex-boyfriend with the help of her son.

Police say 57-year-old Julie McMillian, her son, and four other men broke into Derrick Wilbourn’s apartment back in January armed with guns.

Wilbourn said he heard a knock on the door and when he opened it and saw who was there he tried to close the door, even blocking it with a couch.

A shovel, according to Wilbourn, was used to smash out his windows and then his door was kicked in.

Once inside, Wilbourn says the attackers beat and pistol whipped him.

Julie McMillian is charged with four two counts each of aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.

It’s not clear if charges against the others involved have been filed.
