MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman was the big winner on Friday’s episode of the CBS game show ‘Let’s Make a Deal.’

Claudia Gloria Jones taped the episode in Los Angeles back in September on her birthday and had to keep the outcome a secret from even her family and friends.

Dressed in a black-and-white 70s-themed costume and sash that read “Birthday Queen,” she was chosen to compete in the Big Deal.

Jones chose door number three and won an eight-day trip to Tuscany, along with other cash and prizes totaling over $23,000.

“He said tell my why would you want to go for door three. I said well, I have three beautiful daughters,” said Jones. “That’s why I chose three.”

Jones was shocked when she realized she had picked the right door and had won it all.

“My heart was racing. I couldn’t believe it. For me to get the trip to Italy and the home entertainment center as well as the cash, and I was like, thank you,” Jones said.

This was the third time Jones had been picked to be a contestant on ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ and the third time she had taken home a prize. She said she had no idea she would do it again.

“We had so much fun. It was one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had, especially for that amount that I won. It was awesome,” said Jones. “Wayne Brady was so nice to me. He gave me a big old hug and said how about that for a birthday prize? I said, how about that, Wayne?”

One of her daughters was with her when she won, but the other two found out on Friday about her winnings. Katie Jones said she is proud of her mom.

“I wasn’t nervous. I knew it. She just has that energy. She is just blessed like that,” said Katie Jones. “I’m super excited. I’m still trying to convince her to take me to Tuscanny.”
