MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Zoo has officially welcomed a new baby to the family.
On Monday, one of the Zoo’s giraffes, 22-year-old Marilyn, gave birth to a baby that stands 5 feet tall.
The father’s name is Kenya.
Zookeepers told WREG everything went just right, and the experienced mother and her baby appear to be doing just fine.
Two years ago, Marilyn gave birth to a 150 pound baby boy.
We believe this was her sixth calf.
A name for the giraffe nor the sex have been released at this time.
