MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is investigating after a man was shot at Mud Island Road and Island Drive on Monday afternoon.
Fire and police were in the parking lot on the north end of the island.
A 55-year-old man was transported to Regional One Hospital in ‘extremely critical condition.’ Police say he was shot in the right side of the head and the weapon was recovered in the car.
The injury appears to be “self-inflicted,” police said.
