HARRISBURG, Ark. — The Arkansas police chief who was arrested Wednesday for allegedly allowing his son, a convicted felon, to ride in his patrol vehicle, denies all allegations against him and his son.
Harrisburg, Arkansas Police Chief Eric Moore was charged with furnishing a handgun or a prohibited weapon to a felon, and three counts of Arkansas Crime Information Center release or disclosure to an unauthorized person.
His son, Brandon Moore, is charged with possession of firearms by certain persons first degree, two counts of criminal impersonation second degree, and criminal impersonation first degree.

WREG spoke to the chief, who is on administrative leave, and he said he is shocked by the charges.
He and his son denied the allegations against them and believe they are not guilty.
According to the affidavit for Chief Eric Moore, he allowed his son Brandon, who is a previously convicted felon, to ride in the chief’s patrol car along with other patrol vehicles.
The investigation began April 4 when the town’s mayor raised concerns.
Witnesses, including deputies and police officers, reported that Brandon was present in Chief Moore’s vehicle wearing police gear and accessing “sensitive law enforcement resources.”
“That all of his officers were going to quit if nothing got done about these complaints,” said Mayor Kimble.
“Not very many people talking about it cause they’re scared of retribution on it, so most people around here’s afraid to talk about it,” said Keith Lawson, a Harrisburg resident.
Both Eric and Brandon Moore are out on bond. They have a hearing on May 30 in Poinsett County.
The Little Rock attorney representing the two would only say the matter will “play itself out in court.”
