MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 17-year-old is wanted on a first-degree murder charge following a shooting in Tunica County, Mississippi Sunday night, according to the sheriff’s office.
Reports say the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at the intersection of Carole Street and Edwards Avenue at 11:13 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found 18-year-old Mackenzie Kaleb Thomas suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He died from his injuries on the scene.
The sheriff’s office says 17-year-old Mario Donyale Lester, Jr. was developed as a suspect in the case. A warrant was issued for Lester for first-degree murder and the unlawful discharge of a firearm within a populated area.
Lester is considered “armed and dangerous.” The sheriff’s office is advising the public that if you make contact with him, or have any information regarding his whereabouts, call 911 immediately, or the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office at 662-363-1411.

“Any person who is found that may have knowingly aided, abetted, or assisted in concealing or harboring Lester while at large, shall face criminal charges,” said the sheriff’s office in a press release.
