MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The City of Hernando, Mississippi, announced this week that an all-new, state-of-the-art YMCA will be coming to McIngvale Road in the near future.

The YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South unveiled plans and renderings for the new facility, which will feature amenities such as a lazy river and indoor and outdoor pools.

The new YMCA is expected to break ground in the fall of this year within the Delta Landing development — an area which will feature both residential living and upscale commercial amenities.

It will be located directly across from the new Hernando High School, which will open in the fall for the 2025-2026 school year.

The City of Hernando says the project is being funded thanks to a donation from Sky Lake Construction LLC, a $2 million contribution from the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, and a $30 million gift from the Maddox Foundation.

The city says more details regarding the project will be released in the near future.
