FLOWOOD, Miss. — Two Brandon residents could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after they were caught selling fake tickets to SEC football games.
Flowood Police arrested Christopher Lynn Kyzar and Layla McCall Carpenter in an undercover sting operation, CBS affiliate WJTV reported.
They are accused of selling the fraud tickets on Craigslist for $200. The information on the tickets was correct, but the bar codes were copied from previous games.
Kyzar faces charges of two counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony. Carpenter is charged with two counts of ticket sales exceeding face value, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony and two counts of accessory after the fact.
