MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two individuals are behind bars after a brazen ATM hold-up in broad daylight at the First Tennessee on McLemore and Bellevue in South Memphis.
A police report said the victim walked into the bank Sunday, took out $40, went back outside and was met by a man with a handgun and a 12-year-old with a stick.
Authorities said he refused to give money to folks outside, but that didn’t stop the thieves from making off with the cash.
However, they didn’t get very far.
The 12-year-old`s mother saw police on the scene, and told them who they were looking for and where to find them.
“They hang out with like older boys,” said one neighbor who lives near the younger boy.
He claimed there had been problems before, like begging.
Police found 20-year-old Charles Webb on a porch nearby.
Officers said he ran, but police caught up with him a couple houses down.
WREG tried to catch up with the mom turned tipster at her listed address Monday, but the people inside said she wasn’t home.
