MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A monkey is still on the loose at the Memphis Zoo.
Zimm, a Sulawesi Macaque, escaped her exhibit area late Thursday afternoon.
Zoo officials say Zimm weighs 15 pounds and is ‘absolutely harmless.”
Still, areas of the zoo were cleared as keepers tried to catch her.
It’s believed the monkey went to sleep in a culvert overnight.
The zoo will open as usual at 9 a.m., but some areas may be closed.
Trams will not be running until the monkey is found.
Again, zoo officials stress Zimm is not considered a danger.
Zimm is getting national attention and even has her own parody twitter account.
