SMITHVILLE, Miss. — Investigators in Monroe County are on the hunt for three suspects accused of stealing, then burying thousands of dollars to cover up their crime.

Deputies told WTVA four suspects, one of whom was a juvenile, broke into a man’s home and made off with $140,000 in cash.

During the course of the investigation, the juvenile was identified as a suspect and brought in for questioning.

That’s when it was discovered the thieves had taken the money out to a wood area and buried it along with several weapons.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said all of the remaining suspects, Ethan Stanford, Willie Stanford and Tiffany Swartz, are still at large.

Each of them are facing multiple charges including breaking and entering, burglary and grand larceny.
