Researchers looked at emergency department data between 1990 and 2011.
They found more than 12,000 kids were hurt by falling televisions in 2011. That’s up 126 percent percent since 1990.
The study found most of the children who went to the hospital with television-related injuries were under the age of five and mostly had injuries to the head and neck due to a television falling off a dresser or entertainment center.
Researchers say anchoring your television can prevent it from falling.
