(Chicago, IL) More Americans paid their credit card bills on time in the first three months of the year.

A credit reporting agency says the rate of credit card payments at least 90 days overdue fell 19 % percent from the same time last year.

The average credit card debt also fell slightly to just under $5,000.

But that number is expected to go up because as the economy and job market continue making steady progress, Americans feel more comfortable borrowing.
