MEMPHIS, Tenn. –If you’re heading to the movies over the weekend, you may run into a little extra security.
Universal Pictures offered to pay for theaters to have extra security this weekend for the premiere of Straight Outta Compton.
Malco refused to speak with WREG on whether they took Universal up on that offer or if they’ll even be beefing up security at all.
Given recent theater attacks, including a shooting in Antioch, Tennessee, some said they wanted to see more protection at the movies.
Still others questions why the added security was being offered this weekend, for this movie.
Malco refused to discuss that either, saying simply, no comment.
